【Autumn 2023 Sales Special Features: C92 Scientist (8-1) 4f with an extra characcter “前”】
1963 Nanking (12 Feb) to Nantung, f.w. extremely scarce C92 Scientist (8-1) 4f with an extra characcter “前”+ (8-2) 4f, tied by Kiangsu Nanking cds. Arrived Nantung (14 Feb). With letter sheet content. Plus a piece f.w. the same error stamp, tied by Shanghai cds. C92 (8-1) 4f depicts the portrait of Cai Lun, the inventor of paper of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The stamp at position 16 was wrongly inscribed with an extra character of “前”. Only a few thousand stamps were issued and only two commerically used covers were recorded.

1963.2.12 南京寄南通，貼極珍罕之紀92科學家（8-1）4分“公元前”錯版票 + （8-2）4分，銷江蘇南京日戳。2.14抵南通。附原信。另附“公元前”剪片一件，銷上海日戳。紀92科學家（8-1）4分印有東漢造紙術發明者蔡倫肖像，印版上第16號票於蔡倫出生日期處錯誤多帶一個“前”字。僅有數千枚“公元前”錯版票流出，實寄封更僅見兩例。
